Our organization is working for the upliftment
of the tribals since the last sixteen years. Empowerment of women
is one of the main objectives of our organization. SHGs have served
as an effective platform for women to empower themselves and come
forward by themselves to work on different issues. We provide different
type of training programmes for capacity building of the women who
are the members of these SHGs. We, at our level feel that the SHGs
can play an important role in socio-economic empowerment of the
tribals. SHG not only encourage savings amongst the members but
also provides for credit to the members in need. In addition to
this, SHGs also play an important role in increasing the participation
of the members in the various developmental activities of the village
and thus results in the overall development of the members as a
whole.
The organization also ensures that the SHG members attend the Gram
Sabhas of their village and let their voice be heard on any major
issue discussed in this Sabha. In this way the SHGs not only function
for the economic development of its members but also make sure that
they fight for their rights and use their rights.
Access of the poor to natural assets is essential for sustainable
poverty reduction. So this programme consists of both generation
of income as well as the ownership of assets that reduces the vulnerability
of marginalized communities.
